Well, it’s officially the week after E3 and I have to say it’s nice to get a break in the action in terms of someone who writes about gaming and all of the biggest stories, but it’s sad as a gamer that we just had weeks of anticipation leading up to and then a few days of jaw dropping excitement and announcements. Now it’s the week after E3 and the thought starts to come up, where and when will we be learning new information or seeing new screenshots or videos from the biggest games of last week? Maybe Gamescom in August, Tokyo Game Show in September, or perhaps even later?
We know that some of the biggest games may be a long ways off, so information on them may be slow for the foreseeable future as well. The Mass Effect team already said we won’t find out more about Andromeda until the end of the year. Square-Enix said the same for Final Fantasy VII remake, and even then it may just be what the actual title is. Their other big title Kingdom Hearts 3 will probably have more info revealed at the Japanese Disney event, D23, in November. The list goes on for people hungry for more from the likes of Horizon: Zero Dawn, The Last Guardian, and Shenmue 3. Luckily we still have some blockbusters this year to look forward to such as Batman: Arkham Knight, Star Wars Battlefront, and Rise of the Tomb Raider just to name a few. As a diehard fan of Square-Enix, I feel all of your pain. They always say waiting is the hardest part.
